Red Hot Pepper (Habanero)

Habanero is a hot variety of chili-when unripe they are green and gradually change color as they mature. They are about 2-6 cm long and are rich in antioxidants. Habaneros are known to reduce blood pressure, fight weight gain, and help in lowering your cholesterol levels. An ordinary habanero typically ranks between 100,000 and 350,000 on the Scoville scale of spiciness which is much higher than a typical jalapeno ranking at 2,500 to 5,000. They can be used in a number of ways- chili powder, sauce, pickles and are also used alongside many dishes.
